John of J and L Services was highly recommended by a number of private and commercial organisations, so I asked him to fit a light oak floor in the living and dining rooms. As expected, he did a wonderful job and I can’t praise him highly enough.

I chose John to fit some reclaimed pine scaffold board flooring and am so glad I did. John did a great job at a very reasonable price. He is very professional and reliable and a lovely guy too. He's clearly passionate about flooring and making the customer happy. He pays great attention to detail and even made a bespoke door bar/threshold with the left over scaffold boards to match the flooring. The floor looks amazing! Absolutely no hesitation in recommending if you're looking for a reliable floor fitter.

John is very professional and is highly recommended. He fitted our engineered Oak floor in 3 rooms with different levels, and knew what needed doing when 3 other tradesmen didnt want to go near the job. Even when we were short of product and had to order 1 more box, there was no issue coming back to complete the final step. I would definitely use his services again!

Jon laid engineered solid oak flooring in our listed house. No straight walls and uneven floors. Jon sorted this all out and gave excellent advice from quote through to finish.
The results are fantastic. The floor looks as though it has always been there. No creaks, beautiful finish with an eye to detail. Nothing too much trouble.
I would highly recommend him and so pleased to gave found him. He is very reasonable and reduced our first quote from a shop by half. -
John is a top notch installer at a good price. He installed engineered hardwood throughout our house with perfection and attention to detail. We also appreciated his consideration to disruption in the household with an elderly mother. Clearly very experienced, talented, passionate about his work and always cheerful, warm and friendly. We will use him again to install LVT in bathrooms and kitchen. Happy to recommend John.

John and Traci were an absolute delight to have on the job. They are friendly, dependable, and reliable. John with his experience as a joiner is passionate about woodwork and has an amazing attention to detail. As a team they worked very quickly, tidily, and was considerate in minimising disruption to our daily lives. The invoice was detailed and clear, and any materials that were missing in our original order, they were able to source for us efficiently at good prices. They give their honest opinion when asked and have helped us keep to a reasonable cost, when they could easily have just charged us extra for some unnecessary additions we thought we needed. They go the extra mile to be helpful, and made the entire experience completely stress free. We are very pleased with our beautiful new floor, and we would wholeheartedly recommend John and Traci.

We just had our bedrooms fitted with Engineered flooring by John.
It was done very well, with attention to details and finishing touch (like radiator wood collar) which were very appreciated.
We will definitely use again if we decide to have other rooms done. -
We were looking for a supplier and installer of a wood floor for our Village Hall
We manged to get 4 quotes to get a comparison on price and quality.
We needed a floor which could be used to work on under floor heating
This posed problems and the need for someone to understand the issues was essential.
Having found Jand L flooring it soon became clear his knowledge was far superior than others and probably saved us from future problems?
Not only did his knowledge surpass all others his quotation came in a lot cheaper.
John allowed us to select our floor from a vast range but was not tied to any supplier.
Once the order was given he kept us closely informed at all stages and worked very efficiently to a high standard

Our oak floor has just been completed by J&L Services and the quality is superb. John really went the extra mile to help us get to where we needed to be. Comments : I can not, honestly, rate these guys highly enough. John and his team were efficient, professional, economical, reliable, extremely quick and exceptionally proficient. They swept into my house on Tuesday, took complete control, and by Thursday afternoon the job was done. Let me put this into perspective, I have three reception rooms and a large hallway. Since their departure I have been over the floor with a fine tooth comb and could not find a single fault. From the first conversation I had with John, he struck me as an organised, straight-forward and reliable gentleman and I was not disappointed. I hasten to add that these guys were a pleasure to have around, I barely noticed their presence. For such a professional finish I was amazed by the remarkably reasonable price they charged. -

From ordering my flooring right through to the superb installation, J&L's service was friendly, professional and effcient.
They arrived on time, took care to clean up as they worked, and went the extra mile (unprompted by me) to customise some finishing touches that would show the solid oak floor off to perfection.
I honestly can't think of anything they could have done better and I'm delighted with my new floor. I would highly recommend J&L to other domestic customers. -

We chose J&L Flooring Services based on John's expertise with parquet flooring. When he visited our house initially, he was the only flooring provider we had spoken to who could lay uninterrupted
parquet throught the ground floor (other providers insisted on room divisions). John and his team provided an excellent service, and were extremely friendly and reliable. I would certainly recommend
J&L Flooring, particularly for their expertise with parquet floors. -
We had a tricky job of wanting to patch in a couple of square meters of reclaimed parquet flooring to tie in with an existing floor running through our Hallway.
After been let down by other tradesmen I stumbled across Johns website and only wish I had done much sooner - as others have commented I found his customer service to be excellent:
1)He was prompt when he came to look at the job
2)He listened to what I wanted as the customer (not telling me what I should do)
3)He suggested some excellent solutions to potential problems in patching in my reclaimed blocks and provided some very useful advice around the project.
4)The quote was with me in a matter of hours and at a reasonable cost.
We were delighted with how the job was completed and how it looks.
My next project is the staircase which I have already discussed with John to undertake in the next couple of months.
John has already joined my exclusive list of trusted local tradespeople - alongside my plumber,electrician and plasterer & gardener as I continue our home renovation project.
